On September 15, the College of Management and Economics (CoME) welcomed alumni Zhang Heng and Jin Huan-cheng, MBA students from Class 2013, who donated 20,000 medical masks to CoME for epidemic prevention. Deputy Party Secretary Yuan Ting, teacher representative Nie Bin, Miss Li Ying from Administrative Service Office, and Li Wen-qiang, Liu Yi-ou, and Feng Yi-ran from Alumni Affairs and Development Office, witnessed the donation.
Yuan acknowledged the alumni’s good deeds, saying that as most students returned to the campus, the donation helped the college to meet the constant demand for epidemic prevention supplies.
Zhang Heng expressed his gratitude to his tutor Prof. Wang An-min for his help and guidance during his college life. From working in an enterprise to starting his own business, the life experience at Tianjin University (TJU) has brought him courage and great opportunities. He has been looking fora way to pay back to TJU. In fact, as early as this April, he had the intention to donate medical supplies to CoME, and he finally realized it.
Jin Huan-cheng recalled the good days at school and how before the outbreak of COVID-19, he used to play basketball with the alumni and teachers at TJU every week. “I feel exhilarated to be able to enter the university again after a long time of absence since the epidemic began,” Jin noted, and thanked the teachers for the cordial welcoming..
Li wen-qiang introduced the current cooperation between CoME and alumni enterprises. With the help of the alumni association platform, alumni can participate in the personnel training and discipline construction of CoME in various ways.
Talking about the interaction with the two alumni, Associate Prof. Nie Bin said that they were not only teachers and students, but also teammates of the football association of TJU. He hoped that after the epidemic, they could play in the school playground again.
