Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the establishment of 2013-2017 Higher Education Teaching Guidance Committee charged by the Ministry of Education. Five faculty members from CoME were admitted into Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Teaching Guidance Committees respectively in Management Science and Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Experimental Teaching. The director unit of the Industrial Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee is Tianjin University’s CoME, with Qi Ershi being elected chairman of the committee, and Wang Yuan secretary general. Zhang Wei is elected vice chairman of Management Science and Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee, Ma Shoufeng is on the Experimental Teaching Guidance Committee, and Wang Chunfeng on Finance Teaching Guidance Committee.
2013-2017 Higher Education Teaching Guidance Committee is an expert organization hired and directed by the Ministry of Education, with the nature of non-standing academic institution. It is commissioned by the Ministry of Education, and carries out research, consultancy, guidance, evaluation, and service on undergraduate education. The committee mainly organizes and carries out research on undergraduate teaching theory and practice; proposes consultancy and recommendations to Ministry of Education on discipline construction, teaching material development, laboratory construction and teaching reform; sets up professional standards or teaching quality criteria; organizes teacher training, academic seminars, and information exchange.
The establishment of Teaching Guidance Committees in Management Science and Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Experimental Teaching will promote educational and teaching reform in related disciplines, facilitate their educational development, and improve the education quality in relevant disciplines and the quality of talents trained as well.
