Celebration on the 120th Anniversary, Alumni at Home and Abroad Gathering Joyously

　　On October 1st, it is amazing to open a prelude to the 120thanniversary’s celebration of Tianjin University, in the theme of "celebrating meeting, affection of generations"; the Alumni Conference of CoME was held in the lecture hall of student activity center on 15:00.

　　Struggled for generations, CoME achieved fruitfully through generations. Previous leaders and retired teachers of CoME are invited to attend this event, Yin Bangyan, Zhang Shiying, Qi Er’shi, Hua Jianfeng and Ma Chunyou, etc. and cannot conceal their excitement to come to the scene. Alumni from home and abroad to return to their alma mater for gratitude and retrospective recollections of youthful memories; teachers and alumni of CoME had a joyous gathering with alumni; they sat in accordance with enrollment years, which packed all the 480 seats of the auditorium.

　　In the speech of Prof. Zhang Wei, Dean of CoME, on behalf of the faculty of CoME, Tianjin University, gave a warm welcome to the participated alumni, and pointed out that the decades booming of Tianjin University’s disciplines in Economics and Management is inseparable from the support of alumni. Prof. Zhang Wei’s report focused on CoME’s experiences and achievements along with the reform, and reported from discipline construction, talent training, teaching and research, alumni work and future prospects and outlook of CoME.

　　As representatives of different periods’ leaders of CoME, Yin Bangyan, Zhang Shiying, Qi Er’shi, Hua Jianfeng, Ma Chunyou, Zhang Wei and Li Liznzhong successively step on the stage to accept the flowers from alumni, and delivered their own speeches.

　　It cannot be more moved for giving donation to support education. Mr. Tong Yuanming, the 2011 EMBA alumnus of CoME donated 2,000,000 yuan to CoME and set up a TJU-Yuan Ming Sunshine Education Fund. On behalf of the entire graduates of 1981 major in management (Infrastructure Management and Industrial Engineering Management), Ma Junxia collectively donated 100,000 yuan to support the development of CoME. On behalf of all alumni of 1985 Changzhou cadres class major in management, Duan Jianguo donated a piece of Changzhou crewel embroidery "The 9thBuilding of Tianjin University"; Beijing alumni major in Infrastructure and Public Administration donated walnut vases to CoME.

　　Wise people create brilliant. On the occasion of alumni returned to CoME, we specially invited Fu Deming, Guo Jianxin, Niu Yinghua, An Zhizhong and other 35 alumni, who are senior investors and industry experts being familiar with business management and market operation, with comprehensive knowledge in business experiences and social responsibility of entrepreneurs to be the business mentors and instructors and being solemnly issued certificates. The vice president of Amazon China, Niu Yinghua delivered a speech on behalf of all appointed mentors.

　　Reviewing the past recalls the glory days. Alumni representatives, Sun Liguo, Zhao Hongliang, Li Fulan and Yu Pengzhou shared their respective campus life memories with alumni. Those touching, emotional and sentimental speeches, reveal memories of the past, which have become the memories of youth as the years went by.

　　Associate Dean of CoME, Prof. He Zhen, in his dual roles of alumnus and teacher, expresses his gratitude to the cultivation by teachers on his closing remarks for the conference, he also thanks to alumni’s support and contribution in disciplinary construction. He sincerely hope the majority of alumni can continue their care, support and promote to the construction and development of CoME’s disciplinary construction, which are assumed to better achieve the mission and vision of CoME.

　　It is heard that CoME also arranges various forms of activities during the anniversary celebration of Tianjin University, for instance, reports of Tianjin University 120thAnniversary, namely, Ma Yinchu Memorial Lectures in Economics, visits to CoME’s exhibition of achievements and laboratories, academic salons, forum of alumni and student cadres and new campus visit and other detailed and thoughtful service projects.
